The Indefinite Leave to Remain is unfair
The fee to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) is £3,029 per person - even though it only costs the Home Office £646 to process.
This means people who’ve lived here for years - raising British children, working or going to school here - are being forced to reapply for temporary visas every 2.5 years, keeping them in a constant cycle of financial hardship.
We have done everything that has been asked of us, lived here for a decade, paid taxes, contributed to our communities. But still, we are forced to renew our visas over and over, not because we are ineligible for ILR, but because we simply cannot afford the fee. This leaves many of our families stuck in limbo, unable to plan for the future, sinking deeper into poverty and mental stress.
